The Center for Emergency Medicine offers monthly American Heart Association CPR for Healthcare Providers (BLS) courses as well as group courses when you need them! See below for more information!

AHA Healthcare Provider CPR:
This course is intended for nurses, paramedics, EMT’s physicians and other healthcare professionals who require advanced CPR skills. Students will be trained in the skills of CPR for Adult, Child and Infant, use of an AED, and obstructed airway management. To determine proficiency with the skills learned in this course, students will be asked to take a written evaluation and demonstrate CPR.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an American Heart Association course completion eCard.

Location: 230 McKee Place 5th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. We are in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh, PA adjacent to the UPMC Oakland campus.

Time: 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Given concerns about COVID-19, we ask that if you have traveled to locations where COVID-19 is circulating, have been in contact with someone ill with COVID-19, or are sick with fever and respiratory symptoms, please notify me. We will postpone your participation and/or offer a refund. It is recommended that you also contact your primary care office to address any symptoms you are experiencing. If you believe you have come in contact with a COVID-19 case, we recommend that you contact your local health department.

Textbook: CPR for Healthcare Providers (not required).
Tuition includes instruction and all course materials except for the course textbook.

Group Courses Availability:
The Center for Emergency Medicine offers special classes for groups of 6 or more people at the Center or your facility! If you have students interested in learning this life-saving skill, whether it is a group of 6 or over 100, please contact Mickey Slaven at slavenm@upmc.edu for more information.

Refunds:
Requests for refunds must be made in writing at least five working days prior to the course. The course fee will be returned with a $20 deduction for administrative fees. No refunds are issued for cancellations made after the aforementioned deadline or failure to attend the course. In the event for course cancellation, participants are notified and a full refund granted.
