This 16-week course includes 177 hours of lab and lecture in addition to 100 hours of clinical and field rotations in the Emergency Department, local EMS agencies and specialty shifts.
Lecture and didactic sessions will take place online, while laboratory sessions, module exams and office hours will take place at McCandless Franklin Park Ambulance Authority. Clinical and field shifts will be scheduled outside of class time.
Our clinical partners require students to be compliant with health and safety requirements. Failure to comply with these requirements for our clinical partners may preclude students from completing the clinical requirements of their program. Some CEM clinical partners will not permit students to complete clinical rotations without proof of vaccination and will not accept exemptions. Participation in clinical requires students to complete a physical exam, verification of immunizations and a criminal history and child abuse clearance.
Students are required to purchase AEMT: Advanced Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured Premier Package FOURTH EDITION by the
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) with online access (discount link provided upon enrollment).
The Center’s course of study meets or exceeds the minimum national and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania training requirements. Upon graduation from the program, the students will be eligible take the National Registry of EMTs Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Examination.
